Why does Cactus Jack’s only take bookings for groups of 8 or more?
Since 1989 Cactus Jack’s has resisted the urge to allow small bookings because one day our founder walked into a restaurant and couldn’t get a table at all because all of the tables were booked; “Sorry Sir, we are all booked out tonight” he was told, even though most of the tables were empty at the time. That didn’t make sense to him, so he decided that at Cactus, large tables can book, but smaller tables cannot book, so that his guests would have a greater opportunity to dine during the evening after a short wait, rather than not at all because all the tables were booked out.
We understand that some people have a real need for a booking, such as groups with young kids, but despite trying for nearly 25 years we have never been able to come up with a fair small-bookings system that worked for everyone. So if you have a special need for a quick table, be it a sleepy child or a movie time, please let us know when you walk in the door and we will do our best to get you seated as quickly and fairly as possible.
